It’s officially the end of my vacation block and time for me to start doing real work again. I have 2 more rotations to complete before the end of my duties as a medical student! Tomorrow begins my Ambulatory Medicine clerkship, which will be made of smaller rotations through various Internal Medicine clinics such as Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, etc. I’ve definitely enjoyed my time off, but I’m ready to get back into the workflow again because the sooner I start, the sooner I finish, and your girl is ready to be DONE! I guess I’m also looking forward to the learning that will take place along the way from all the different types of patients I will see and the attending physicians/residents I will work with.
At this stage in the game, I am battling against some serious “senioritis.” But, if there’s anything I’ve learned in my medical school career, it’s to fake it til you make it. I could be super tired or frustrated or just over it, but I will still come in with a smile and give my patients and colleagues the best version of myself possible. I will always just suck it up, plaster on a smile, and make the best of whatever the situation is. This rotation won’t be too bad though (regular business hours, no call, no weekends), so I’m sure my smiles will be genuine.
Not much else to speak on, and no sense in rambling about something when I could just go to sleep instead, so that’s what I’m going to do. I hope you have a wonderful week!
RIP to Martin Luther King, Jr.
PS: If you haven’t seen the Netflix show You, you should check it out! It’s so crazy, but so good. Only 10 episodes (so far), which you can knock out in 2 days if you really work hard. 😉
