Chapter Closing

So my time in Atlanta is coming to an end. The celebrations are winding down and I’m saying many of my goodbyes. I can’t say that I’m not excited to move though! Last week I closed on my condo (yay!) and moved some of my stuff into my new place. This weekend I’ll be taking my final trip with my mom to bring the rest of my stuff up. Update: MICU rotation

Turns out I’m ending 4th year on a more somber note than I expected. I really didn’t know what to expect from a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) rotation this time last year when I was scheduling it as my last rotation. I’m two of four weeks in and to say it’s been sad would be an understatement. Before this rotation, I had never been faced with so much sickness and death in a short span of time. And now we wait…

Last week, four days ago to be exact, was the deadline for the submission of our rank order list to the NRMP (National Residency Match Program). At this point, there is officially nothing else we as applicants can do but wait until match week. It’s an interesting feeling for me though because for the past 3.5 years, I’ve been doing everything I can to be the best student I could be.
