Is it me or was January an extremely long month? It feels like we’re already halfway through 2019. Then again, my mind is so focused on my graduation and becoming a doctor that I’m practically already in May. Update: Ambulatory Medicine Rotation

To start off for those who don’t know, ambulatory medicine = outpatient medicine. This rotation at my school is 4 weeks and it’s with the Internal Medicine department. Some of my classmates that are at regional campuses are working with one doctor doing only one aspect of Internal med–nephrology for example. I’m doing the rotation at the main hospital at my institution along with 10-15 other med students, so our experience is a little more mixed. Last Stretch!

It’s officially the end of my vacation block and time for me to start doing real work again. I have 2 more rotations to complete before the end of my duties as a medical student! Tomorrow begins my Ambulatory Medicine clerkship, which will be made of smaller rotations through various Internal Medicine clinics such as Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, etc. I’ve definitely enjoyed my time off, but I’m ready to get back into the workflow again because the sooner I start, the sooner I finish, and your girl is ready to be DONE!
